Made especially for Sally to celebrate her birthday and the 50th anniversary of our friendship. A collection of fabrics called Tea Service from Connecting Threads was the inspiration for this quilt.
Alternating 9 patch blocks--Crow's Nest and Lover's Knot--create subtle vertical and horizontal undulations in the quilt top. Half square triangles leftover from making the Crow's Nest were used to create charming pinwheel blocks for the back.
To continue the tea service theme, I designed and created the computerized quilting pattern that features a matching tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl and two cups. Their floral motif echoes the flowers in some of the fabrics: Tea Service for Sally E2E.
